Student Rules And Regulations
1. All students must have a valid Taekwon-do Impact licence. 2. Students must wear the official ITF dobok during lessons in a Taekwon-do Impact registered school. Beginners are allowed to be without a dobok during a trial period. (see appendix 1) 3. Students must observe the safety guidelines and any other guidelines given by the instructor. (see appendix2) 4.Students must observe the Taekwon-do etiquette (see appendix 3) 5. The instructor has the right to refuse admission or expel a student at his/her discretion. Appendix 1- Official dobok: Top: White top with a zipped/velcro front, a Taekwon-do logo on the back and an ITF badge on the left side of the chest. A plain white T-shirt may be worn inside.The Black belts' dobok top has black piping aroun the waist. Trousers: White trousers with the initials ITF running down both sides. Belt: 5cms wide, 5mm thick, tags 5mm wide. The belt should be wrapped around the waist only once. Black belts must display the degree rank using Roman numerals on the left hand side of the belt. Appendix 2 - Student safety guidelines a)During free sparring no intentional contact should be made, no kicks below the belt, no sweeping, grabbing or pushing. b) Free sparring must be practised using the appropiate safety equipment. Hand and foot pads and a groin guard for males. Other safety equipment is optional e.g shin pads, head guard and mouth guard. c) Toe nails must be kept short, especially for those practising free sparring. d)Seek your own medical advice before training if you are on medication or suffer from injury or illness. You train at your own discretion and you assume the risk. In any case you must inforn the instructor of any condition that may affect your training. e) Do not behave in a way that endangers other members of the class. f) Students under the age of 16 are not required to perform power tests on breaker boards in the grading. Students under the age of 15 are not recommended to practise power tests on rigid objects such as; breaker boards. wood, tiles or bricks. Students aged between 15 - 17 need to obtain consent from their instructor and parent/guardian to practise power breaking. g) Do not wear jewelry or watches during training. h)Food and beverages are not allowed in the training hall, except water which may be taken to prevent dehydration.(Diabetics are the exception to this rule) i) You will be refused entry to the class if you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs( class A, B or C) j)You should not attend a training session if you suffer from a disease/illness (eg viral infection) which can infect other students during the training session. Appendix 3 - Taekwon-do etiquette guidelines a) Bow before entering or leaving the training hall. b) Bow to the instructor as he/she enters the hall. c) Bow as you approach the instructor. When walking away do not immediately turn your back on the instructor, bow and take at least two steps back before turning away. d) Address the instructor in an appropiate manner i.e Sir/Miss. e) Receive with both hands when receiving certificates, licences, awards etc from the instructor. f) When tying your belt or adjusting your dobok turn away from your instructor and seniors. g) If you arrive late, wait at the side where you can be seen by the instructor and wait to be called in to join the class. h) Always set a good example for lower ranking students. I) Never be disrespectful to the instructor or seniors.
